Global Supply Chain Challenges 2022 \u2013 2027<\/h4>\n<p>Supply chains in the next five years will, <em>in design,<\/em>\u00a0be much like they are today.\u00a0 Globalization will still be THE major driver, as will design criteria of cloud-based resource information and management systems.\u00a0 Logistics systems will also likely remain much the same, at least in terms of <em>design<\/em>.\u00a0 All of these similarities will be stressed beyond original design, though they are expected to continue to work acceptably. \u00a0These similarities, while providing comfort to supply chain professionals, are where the <em>similarities will end<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Tools and mechanisms that professionals use t<em>o manage<\/em> global supply chains will continue to evolve at a rapid pace.\u00a0 Technology advances will change how professionals interact with their complex globalized supply chains, how they manage and optimize them, and how they transfer value to customers.\u00a0 Leading the way will be tangible, useful, and available tools borne from the <em>convergence<\/em>\u00a0of advancements in THREE enabling technology groups, including:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The\u00a0<em>convergence of<\/em>\u00a0enabling big data analytics with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<em>convergence of<\/em>\u00a0enabling blockchain ledgers with ERP, CRM, MES, WMS and S&amp;OP systems, through all echelons of end-to-end global supply chains.<\/li>\n<li>The convergence of augmented and virtual reality enabling technologies in user interfaces.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A second and more interesting element has emerged in the just the last 2 years \u2013 state actors using government policy to shape their supply chains in ways that benefit their (national) constituents.\u00a0 Supply chain leaders must now become students of national interests, and how those interests will impact the supply chains their companies depend upon.\u00a0 The concept of <em>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newenglandsupplychainconference.org\/wp2022\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sovereign-Supply-Chains-V30.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sovereign Supply Chains<\/a>\u201d<\/em> will be introduced.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Dunn will also address the 1.96+ million (up 160,000 from 2021 projections) supply chain professional shortage that is predicted to exist by 2030.\u00a0 He will address how to advance one\u2019s career, by learning these new enabling technologies, and developing global teams to do the same.\u00a0 Technical, organizational, cultural, and behavioral impediments to implementing future supply chain tools will be addressed,\u00a0so that participants can return to their respective companies, and begin to prepare the changes that are on the way.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Get Ready!
