When to be George Patton or Eleanor Roosevelt: How to Coach Successfully

by Steve Ford, Managing Partner and Joseph J. Maressa, Vice President

This session will be interactive. We are going to ask you examine past coaches (any type of coach) you have had to understand what made that relationship successful - or not. We will then discuss the different styles of coaching and when each is appropriate. We will also help you understand the five key questions you must ask to determine if coaching will be successful.

We will begin with a discussion of the difference between coaching and mentoring. When should you provide coaching, mentoring or training?

Our goal is to provide specific tools that you can use the next day. Anyone attending this session will receive one hour of telephone follow-up support to be used in the month following the session to help in applying these techniques.
