We’ll help you plan out these all-important job search documents. Learn basic principles of resume writing, different types of resumes, successful use of a portfolio, writing cover letters that get employers’ attention, and how to properly complete applications.. This session will help you build a FIRST CLASS resume, and help you get noticed in your next job search!

It will examine:

  • Typical Content and layout/format
  • Today's hot "buzz-words" and acronyms (how to make your resume stand out above the others!)
  • What NOT to put on your resume (most common mistakes!)
  • Chronological or Functional resume?
  • What to do with the GAPS in a resume (and how far back should I go?)
  • What to do with multiple short-term job experience
  • Should you customize/target your resume for each job application?
  • How do you handle your AGE?
  • Do I include volunteer jobs?
  • Degree vs non-Degree
  • E-mail vs snail-mail vs CD, etc
  • Cover letter?
  • Post it on a web site?
